Adrian Enthoven appointed new Hollard chairman

Adrian serves on the Business Leadership South Africa Council and is deeply involved in various initiatives for the benefit of youth employment, education, social justice and the arts.
Outgoing Chairman Richard Enthoven says "The Hollard businesses need a South African-based Chairman plugged into the local dynamics. While serving as Chairman has been very rewarding and I am proud of what Hollard has achieved during my tenure, the company demands more than I am able to give right now from my Australian base. I am also delighted that someone of Adrian's experience, insight and wisdom will assume the mantle and guide Hollard's governance into the future. I wish him every success"

Hollard CEO Nic Kohler says that Richard Enthoven's increasingly demanding role in Australia, as the Hollard businesses in Australia continue to enjoy significant growth played a role in the move. Paying tribute to Enthoven's contribution Kohler says, "Richard has overseen a period of tremendous growth for the Hollard Group. Besides substantial turnover growth, from a little over R7 billion to almost R12.5 billion per year, we have enhanced our geographical diversification, with more than 50% of our growth in profits now delivered by our international operations. Just as importantly, with Richard's guidance we have positioned our business to deliver significant social benefits in addition to financial returns. We are incredibly grateful for his leadership in creating a strong platform for future growth."

Kohler adds that as a family-owned business where there is close engagement between shareholders and management, it was appropriate for Adrian Enthoven to be appointed as Chairman, while the Hollard Board continues to reflect a sound balance between shareholder-linked and independent non-executive directors.
