Sponsorship plays a key role at African Insurance Exchange

Johannesburg - The 2025 African Insurance Exchange takes place at Sun City and online from 27 to 30 July. As with any conference of this size, through sponsorship provides a key pillar of support for proceedings.

We spoke to a few sponsors to get an understanding of why they are sponsoring the event and what their sponsorship means to them.

For Jaco Mostert, group chief executive officer at Workerslife, the theme of AIE 2025 –The Baobab Advantage: Multifaceted Growth and Continuous Evolution – is more than just a concept; it reflects the company’s commitment to resilience, sustainability, and community-driven financial solutions.

“The baobab tree is a powerful symbol of longevity and strength, deeply aligned with our vision,” he says. “As an Afrocentric financial services provider, we strive to deliver uniquely African solutions, guided by Ubuntu principles to build a strong foundation and a lasting legacy.”

Networking and partnership

Mostert says AIE 2025 presents a key opportunity for Workerslife to connect with industry peers, gain valuable insights and expand its partnerships.

“We are looking forward to networking with like-minded financial businesses, strengthening existing relationships and forming new partnerships. The conference offers an invaluable platform to learn from expert speakers, exchange ideas and incorporate fresh perspectives into our business strategy,” he says.

Workerslife is taking an active role in engaging with attendees throughout the event.

“As sponsors, we see this as more than just a branding opportunity – it’s a chance to immerse ourselves in key discussions, explore trends and foster meaningful connections,” says Mostert. “We’ll be participating in planned social events and, as sponsors of the closing event, hosting key stakeholders at our table to cultivate impactful discussions.”

Mostert highlights AIE’s role in industry growth and collaboration.

“This conference is essential for both new entrants seeking exposure and seasoned professionals looking to stay ahead of industry innovations,” he says. “It brings together all key stakeholders, providing a space for brand awareness, knowledge-sharing, and high-level networking.

“With industry leaders offering valuable insights, AIE 2025 provides the perfect platform for engagement and idea exchange, shaping the future of the sector.”

Sharon Morris, portfolio manager, communications and events at Aon, says Aon’s role at AIE 2025 is all about meaningful connections, starting from the moment attendees arrive.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our guests at the Aon registration desk,” she says. “It’s a privilege to be part of the first interaction delegates have with the conference, setting the stage for insightful discussions and valuable networking.”

Beyond registration, Aon is committed to engaging with attendees throughout the event.

“We will actively network and exchange knowledge on how the industry is innovating to protect lives and livelihoods,” says Morris. “This is a unique opportunity to discuss emerging trends and explore solutions that drive long-term resilience in the insurance sector.”

Resonant theme

Morris says the theme of AIE 2025 perfectly aligns with Aon’s mission.

“The baobab tree is known for its ability to thrive in harsh conditions. Similarly, Aon continues to demonstrate resilience, adapting to the evolving needs of our clients and industry through continuous innovation. As a brand, we share the qualities of resilience, longevity, adaptability, and support.”

Morris sees AIE 2025 as a vital fixture on the insurance calendar.

“There is no better forum for insurance and risk professionals to meet, network, and unpack solutions to some of the most pressing challenges our clients face,” she says. “The conversations at AIE shape the future of the industry, bringing together experts who are committed to finding new ways to support businesses and communities.”

For Gugu Mkhize, CEO of Inseta, AIE 2025 offers unparalleled opportunity for connection and collaboration.

“We are looking forward to engaging with industry leaders, policymakers and skills development providers to explore collaborations and innovative solutions for addressing skills gaps in the insurance sector,” she says. “AIE 2025 presents an opportunity to showcase Inseta’s role as an authority in skills development, highlight some of our key initiatives, and explore possible collaborations on strategies that will drive inclusivity and long-term industry growth.”

Inseta will once again have a physical presence at the event, with a stand where attendees can meet the team and find out more about available programmes.

“Our team will be available to discuss skills development opportunities, funding initiatives, and how stakeholders can partner with us to build a future-ready workforce,” says Mkhize.

She believes the conference is a vital fixture on the insurance calendar.

“The AIE is a cornerstone event for the insurance industry as it provides a platform to discuss emerging trends, regulatory developments, and best practices,” she says.

With a clear vision and a deep-rooted commitment to growth, Inseta is ready to take full advantage of the baobab’s wisdom at AIE 2025.
