Barbie mania must remind us to protect our valuable possessions and collectibles

Johannesburg - As the excitement surrounding the highly anticipated Barbie movie continues, collectors and Barbie doll enthusiasts are likely to see the value of their collections rise. According to Greta Goosen, Head of Customer Experience at MiWay Insurance, the movie's release will generate more interest in Barbie products, which could increase the value of certain dolls or collections, as has happened with previous Barbie movie franchises.

Previous Barbie movies have helped keep Barbie collectibles relevant and in demand among collectors and fans alike, contributing to increased value of certain items.”

She explains that as with many collectible items, the collection's value may appreciate over time, and collectors may not realise the extent of this. “The surge in Barbie mania serves as a reminder to all collectors – both expert and amateur – to ensure that these valuables are safeguarded, as well as to identify and understand what these items may be worth.
