Allianz appoints Damien Liebart as Regional Head of Risk Consulting
Johannesburg - Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) today announced the appointment of Damien Liebart as the new Regional Head of Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) for Region Mediterranean & Africa, effective January 1st 2022.
He will report directly to Michele Williams, Global Head of ARC, with an additional reporting line to Patrick Thiels, Managing Director Mediterranean & Africa Region. Damien Liebart succeeds Eva Poujardieu.
In this role, Damien Liebart will lead AGCS’ Risk Consulting unit across the Mediterranean & Africa region (France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Africa, Greece, Malta, Cyprus and Middle East). ARC’s risk engineers and industry experts provide a wide range of risk consulting services to help businesses manage, prevent, and reduce risks, whatever the industry. This includes site surveys of industrial facilities, desktop reviews and risk assessments to support the underwriting of corporate risks across all ten lines of business of AGCS and to offer guidance to companies on loss control measures.
Damien started his career in the Environment department as Team leader for the North-East Region at the Ministry of Defence’s headquarters. In 2008, he joined the Fire Brigade in Paris and in addition to the operational activities (fire, rescue, etc.), he managed the Fire Investigation Service. This unit investigates fires after their extinction in order to determine their causes and circumstances. In 2012, he joined AGCS and ARC, first as a Property Prevention Engineer before becoming an Account Manager and Account Manager Team Leader in France and finally, Regional Property Manager.
Damien Liebart has over 20 years’ experience in risk consulting, of which 10 years are in the insurance sector at AGCS. He holds a Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology and Environmental studies, from the University of Avignon (France).
