FSCA warns public against Oakshield Asset Management
Pretoria - The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) has today issued a statement warning the public to act with caution when dealing with Oakshield Asset Management (Pty) Ltd (Oakshield).
The financial services regulator said that it had received information that Oakshield is adverting their services on the internet as specialising in corporate Finance, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Private Equity and Asset Advisory.
"Oakshield is not authorised by the FSCA to conduct financial services business," said the regulator.
"Members of the public should always confirm that an entity or individual is registered with the FSCA to provide financial advisory and intermediary services and what category of advice it is that the entity is registered to provide."
The FSCA said it wanted to remind customers who wish to conduct financial services with an institution or person to confirm beforehand with the FSCA on either the toll-free number (0800 110 443) or on https://www.fsca.co.za/Fais/Search_FSP.htm whether such institution or person is authorised to render financial services.
